Not wishin’ t’ jinx things, but it looks like we may have made it through the last–or one of the last–cold spells of winter and are sailin’ square into springtime. The trees are bloomin’, the grass is beginning to grow again, the buds are swellin’ on the vines, and the birds are sailing through the skies, nesting, and snacking on early season bugs. Because of the cold snaps and generally awful weather rounds, we are a bit behind in pruning the vineyard, but with fair weather ahead, we should catch up in no time. Then, growing season…
WINES, WINES, AND MORE WINES!
We’ve been busy in the processing department over the winter, and several new wines or rebatches of wines have hit the tasting room shelves: Hispanola, Fair Winds, Following Seas, The Fancy, Spanish Main, and more. We’re also running through fermentation on many wines for the coming year: Say Tortuga Like a Pirate, October Gale, Bleedin’ Hearts, and coming up, The Wild Rose, The Merry Rose, and EIT #283. There will be more. Stay tuned–real-time announcements happen on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

THE COCKTAIL SCENE
Spring Cocktails are alive and well in The Crow’s Nest Tastin’ Room. We have brought back the Heave Ho, featuring the Sweet Revenge, and to add to the line-up is this beauty here, Port Royal (and Port Royal Spicy). This one features The Fancy and embodies an herbaceous/floral complexity,
When visiting, you can always settle into a 5-oz pour or go with a 3- or 4-wine flight. We’re also adding a Wine/Food pairing featuring one dry/off-dry and one semi-sweet/sweet wine, combined with four food samples. It’s a great way to see how pairings affect the overall perception of a certain wine.
We will be expanding the Fo’c’sle area outdoors this year, also. More picnic tables, more seating in general. It’s a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of life and spend a little downtime enjoying the sights and sounds of the winery and vineyards.
IMPROVEMENTS
We have been making great strides in the development of the winery proper, adding public restrooms back in the fall 2025, and working on the Winery Barn, fashioning it into the future home of all of our processing and work areas. It is a long, slow, steady march to completeness. We are currently awaiting a delivery that will kick the inside renovations into high gear with the finish of the floor, flooring, stud walls, and ceiling. Once that is completed, we can get on with finishing out the electrical and plumbing, while at the same time insulating and cladding the walls. The cherry on top will be the HVAC system, and finally inspection and approval by the state powers that be. Our goal is to be moved in and working before the end of the year. Can we do it? Stay tuned to find out!

SMALL EVENT SPACE
We also continue the steady transformation of the Cottage Farmstay into Chateau Revenge, our small event space for small groups, meetings, private tastings, and celebrations. The venue is quaint, charming, and affords both indoor and outdoor spaces for private gatherings. We are limited to a max guest count of 15 indoors, so please plan accordingly. We now have a fee structure and a booking calendar, so if you are planning an upcoming special day/evening, consider Chateau Revenge.
We are so excited to set sail into the busy portion of the year, and we hope you will be along with us for the adventure!
